Three Bee Network changes reach Bury on 30 August. The 95 doubles to hourly at weekends and evenings, the 471 gains buses and the 135 night bus stays.

Three Bee Network bus changes affecting Bury take effect on Sunday 30 August 2026. All three are listed on Transport for Greater Manchester’s own bus network development page, which sets out the first wave of a wider package.

The clearest gain is on the 95. Weekend and evening timetables improve from a two-hourly service to hourly, all day, seven days a week.

What changes in Bury, and when

Bee Network changes listed for Bury, August 2026
ServiceWhat changesFrom
95Weekend and evening timetables go from two-hourly to hourly, all day, seven days a week. TfGM describes this as supporting "improved connections between Salford and Bury, linking communities in the south of the borough"30 August 2026
135 night busNight services between Manchester, Whitefield and Bury continue on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, with some additional late-night midweek trips30 August 2026
471Additional daytime buses to improve performance and address capacity. More services early morning, evening and Sunday on the Bury to Bolton to Rochdale link30 August 2026

The 471 change is listed three times by TfGM, once each under Bury, Bolton and Rochdale, which is a reasonable indication of how much traffic that route carries between the three towns.

The 95 change appears under both Bury and Salford for the same reason.

The wider package

TfGM says 36 service changes are coming across Greater Manchester, affecting 740,000 people living near the improved services, and that they were “shaped by feedback from local communities and passengers”.

They arrive in two waves:

  • First wave: 30 August to 6 September 2026. This includes all three Bury changes.
  • Second wave: January to March 2027. TfGM has not yet published route-level detail for this half.

Several new night buses in the first wave start slightly later, on 3 September, but none of those are Bury routes. The Bury night bus in the package, the 135, is a continuation rather than a new service.

One change on the borough’s edge

Manchester’s 115 and 116 also change on 30 August. TfGM says the route “will alter through Middleton via Rhodes to improve connections to a number of supermarkets, schools and Heaton Park”.

That is a Manchester change rather than a Bury one. Rhodes sits close to the Bury boundary, though, and Heaton Park is used heavily from Prestwich and Whitefield. Worth a look if either route is part of your journey.

What it means for you

  • Check your own route before the bank holiday weekend. The changes land on Sunday 30 August, the day before the August bank holiday, when timetables are already different.
  • New timetables appear roughly three to four weeks before a change, according to TfGM, so the 30 August timetables should be published now. Search your route on the Bee Network bus timetables page.
  • If you use the 95 at weekends, the practical difference is real. A two-hourly service becoming hourly halves the worst-case wait, and it applies on evenings too, not only in the daytime.
  • Nothing here is a cut. All three Bury entries are additions or continuations. That is not true everywhere in the package: elsewhere in Greater Manchester some frequencies fall while others rise.
  • This is a timetable change, not a fares change. TfGM lists nothing about ticket prices in the package. Our Bury tram and travel times page covers bus and tram fare caps.
  • For road closures and diversions that can affect bus journeys, see Bury roadworks and travel.

What we could not confirm today

TfGM’s travel alerts page filters route and timetable changes through a tool we could not read, so this article is built from the network development page rather than from individual route alerts. If a smaller Bury service changes on 30 August without appearing in TfGM’s borough table, it would not be captured here. We have not carried any claim we could not source directly to TfGM.
