Shaun Ryder is at The Met on 7 October and the East Lancashire Railway's steam gala runs 16 to 18 October. 40 dated listings for Bury, with prices.

Shaun Ryder brings his spoken word tour to The Met on Wednesday 7 October, and the East Lancashire Railway’s Autumn Steam Gala fills the line from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 October. Between them sits the Bury Festival of Art, across the borough on 10 and 11 October. Half term then brings ghost trains, a haunted garden and a lantern parade, and the first bonfires are lit on Saturday 24 October. Saturday 7 November is the big fireworks night, with two ticketed displays in the borough and a free one at Heaton Park.

Updated 3 October: past listings removed; added the free Heaton Park fireworks, two more Bury FC home games, First Thursday Comedy on 5 November and three more November dates; the steam gala timetable is now published.

Every listing below was read from the organiser’s own page on Monday 28 September 2026, re-checked on Saturday 3 October (with Jersey Girls added on Sunday 4 October), and links back to it. Prices appear only where the organiser publishes them. Where a listing shows no price, none was published, which does not mean the event is free.

Getting there

The Met, Bury Market and Bolton Street station are all within a short walk of Bury Interchange. Our tram times page has the Metrolink service, and parking in Bury has the car parks and tariffs. The railway warns that parking near Bolton Street is very limited on event days. Check the roadworks page before a weekend drive, because the M60 closes between junctions 17 and 18 on some weekends this autumn.

This page is rewritten as organisers confirm new dates. Dates and prices can change, so use the links before you travel. More in our What’s On section, and places that open all year are in things to do in Bury.
